God is love

Jesus said,

“The most important commandment is this: “Hear, O Israel the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.” (Jesus in the Bible Mark Chapter 12 verses 28-34).

The challenge for us today is to Love God with our entire being and to Love our neighbour as we Love ourselves. If we are about to go to the place of worship and a stranger stops us and says to us. “Please give me something to eat. I am hungry. I have nothing to eat.”

God would require him first to feed the stranger then go and worship him. This would please God. It would be a sacrifice pleasing in his sight.

Prayer

Dear God

Please teach me to love you with all my heart and with all my soul and with all my mind and with all my strength. Please teach me to love my neighbour as I love myself. Teach me to love what you love and let everything that breaks your heart, also break my heart.
