Those who Trust in God will not be disappointed
“God heard the prayer of Hannah.
“In the bitterness of her soul Hannah wept much and prayed to the Lord. And she made a vow, saying “O Lord Almighty, if you will only look upon your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life.
“1 Samuel Chapter 1 Verses 10-11 in the Bible.”)
Hannah was bitter and sad because she could not have a child. She poured out her heart to God. She did not hold back her tears. She promised God that if he gave her a son, she would give the child back to God.
This is quite an amazing story. God heard her prayer and her cry for help. God gave her a son. Hannah kept her promise and when the child had been weaned, she took him to the House of God and left him with there with a Priest. She was completely trusting in God.
The incredible thing about this story is because Hannah kept her promise she had made to God. God honoured her. God gave her another three sons and two daughters. This was a miracle.
You may be thinking my situation is hopeless. I suggest you do as Hannah did, pour out your heart to God. Do not be afraid to cry if you need to. God will see your tears and he will hear your prayer. He responds to the true cry of our hearts.
The story of Hannah is an encouragement to us all. A hopeless situation is turned around by God. Her first son became a great man of God and became known as Samuel. This story should encourage us to come before God and pour out our hearts before him. No matter what our situation is.
This story also shows us that in the first place everything we have belongs to God. But when we give everything back to him, he will abundantly bless it back to us. We will never be disappointed in God, no matter how bleak things look to us from where we stand.
Prayer.
Dear God,
I come to you,
Everything I have is from You,
I lay it all back at your feet,
I lay my life at your feet,
So that I may really know you.
I pour my heart out to you,
Please hear me as you heard Hannah.
Be kind to me.
I ask this in Jesus name.
Amen.
