Peter said, to the man who was born cripple, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Be healed and walk.”

Peter and John were going to the temple to pray at 3’o clock in the afternoon which was their usual practice. As they came to the stairs of the temple gate. There was a man sitting there who was born cripple.

He was carried every day to the temple stairs by his friends and sat there to beg for money from those going into the temple. But on this particular day his life would change for ever. He did not know this.

Up to this day he had no expectations of anything ever changing in his life. He was born cripple and had been dependent on others to meet his needs. He had probably thought that nothing would ever change for him.  The man born cripple called out to Peter and John, “Please could you give me money for my food today?” Peter looked at the man and said, “Look at me.” The man looked up with an expectation of getting something from Peter.

Peter said, “I do not have a penny to my name but what I have I give to you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Be healed and walk.”  Peter helped the crippled man to his feet. The crippled man was immediately healed and began to walk, jumping and praising God.

It was the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth that brought healing to this man. For so long he had been dependent on others and without hope but then a moment arrived when his whole life was changed.

The man had asked for a few pence but he was given a far greater gift by the mercy of God. He was given total healing so that he did not have to beg again. God was able to get to the root of the problem.

We may have been struggling with a problem for a long time and we are thinking nothing will ever change. Call upon the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth to get to the root of the problem and bring you healing.

Prayer

 Dear Jesus,

I call out to you

In my desperate situation.

Please help me

Please heal me completely

Please heal my mind, my body and my soul.

I ask it in the name of Jesus Christ

Of Nazareth.

Amen.
