A Prayer for 2017.

Jesus said,
“DO NOT FEAR
I HAVE YOU IN THE PALM OF MY HANDS”

As we enter 2017, we will all have worries about our health, our families, maybe our employment, paying bills, the rent or the mortgage, or whether we will have enough food at the table to eat…

These are common worries for all of humanity.

Jesus spoke to a crowd who would have had very similar fears and worries. To calm their fears and our fears, Jesus introduced God as our Heavenly Father.

A Heavenly Father who really cared about us. He was not a God who was remote from his creation or a God who did not understand the needs of his creation.

Jesus said, “Your Heavenly Father knows what you need, so why do you worry?” He said, “Look at the birds of the air. They do not worry or store up in barns because your Heavenly Father feeds them and takes care of them”.

“But you are far more important to your Heavenly Father than the birds of the air. Your Heavenly Father is so interested in you that even the hairs on your head have been counted.”

We need to come to our Heavenly Father with confidence and place ourselves in the palm of his hands. Remember our Heavenly Father holds the universe in the palm of his hands. He also holds you in the palm of his hands. You are so important to him that he has counted every blood cell in your body. (The story on the care of our Heavenly Father is found in Matthew Chapter 6 Verses 25-34.)

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
You hold the universe in the palm
Of your hands
YOU ALSO HOLD ME
Please help me to put my trust in you
Thank you
In Jesus name
Amen.
