Entering 2026 with God
The
Loving Father.
When I am afraid
I put my trust in you. (Psalm 56:3)
Entering the new year always creates some anxiety about the future. Some of the thoughts that run through our minds are: How will things work out? Will we have enough money? Will we have good health? Will our families be safe? Will there be food on the table? All these are real anxious thoughts.
Anxiety and faith are part of the same coin. On the one side of the coin, we have faith on the other side of the coin we have fear. The big question is which side of the coin do we choose to look at when we have difficulties in life?
We can’t see faith and we can’t see fear. Fear is very emotional and it can take over our lives but faith is quietly trusting in God. Jesus experienced all the human emotions in the Garden of Gethsemane. He experienced fear, restlessness, loneliness, but he found the strength to pray to God his father and submit his fears to him.
We will have our fears as we enter 2026. We can like Jesus submit all our fears to the God the Father because he understands us and he alone can deal with them. David in Psalm 34:4, found the only way to deal with fear was to bring it to God. He said, “I sought the LORD, and he delivered me from all my fears.”
A child will run to his loving parent in time of need for comfort. God is a Loving Father whom we can run to time of our need.
Prayer
Dear Jesus,
You understand what it is to be afraid.
You understand what it is to be alone.
You understand what it feels to be fearful
You understand what it feels to be restless
But you also understand what it is like to put yourself
completely in your Father’s care.
Help me now to put myself in my Father’s care
As I enter 2026 with you.
With you I am safe.
Amen
In Jesus name.
